St. Leo and St. John Vianney in Omaha

May 11, 2010

Two catholic hot spots in Omaha to get married are St. Leo Catholic Church and St. John Vianney. I wrote this entry to compare the two to help any wedding venue shoppers who aren’t particularly attached to a location but know they want to get married in a catholic church in Omaha.
I’ll be comparing the [...]

Shandie and Nathan love story shoot

April 5, 2010

On Saturday I did a love story shoot with Shandie and Nathan. I’ve shot my previous two love stories in Omaha parks, but for this Shandie loved the idea of a more scenic location and she found a classic country farm for us to film at. It was fun to try a new location and [...]

Choosing the Ceremony Venue

January 30, 2010

You probably already have an idea of where you’d like to get married. Sometimes it’s an obvious choice, like your home church, other times it’s a tough decision, especially when the bride and groom are from different places. Whether you’ve decided the venue already or you have yet to go shopping for one, there are [...]

I’m writing a wedding planning eBook that will be available soon on the website completely free! I’ll be posting chapters as blogs as I write them. Please feel free to make comments and put your opinion out there! This is the first section, chapter 1, Remembering What’s Important:

Joslyn Castle, Omaha

December 3, 2009

For those in the search for a ceremony site, the Joslyn Castle in Omaha is a beautiful place to consider for an elegant outdoor or indoor wedding. If you have the wedding outdoors, the castle itself provides a breathtaking backdrop for the ceremony, formal pictures, and video with plenty of area in front to seat up to 200. You can have the ceremony anywhere on the premises if you want a larger guest list, but in my opinion the front of the castle is the prettiest place. The place is a historic landmark and maintained to appear accurate to it’s past. One downside to this is that the fountain in the front of the castle was turned off, filled with stones, and is inactive because it was not originally a part of the building.

Now Nebraska’s Top Wedding Videographer

November 6, 2009

My videos were recently reviewed by a team of judges at TopWeddingVideographers.com, and I’m excited to announce that Wedding Memories of Omaha is now listed as Nebraska’s only Top Wedding Videographer! While other wedding videographers from Nebraska have submitted their work for review, they did not meet the quality standards of the review team. I [...]

Bethany and Jared’s Wedding

October 27, 2009

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of Bethany and Jared’s wedding here in Omaha last Saturday. My favorite part had to have been this clip of the ring-bearer rocking out and taking everybody to school on the dance floor. Check it out:

My personal love story

October 5, 2009

One of my favorite parts of my job is that I get to meet a lot of great couples when I film weddings. It’s fun to see all the planning and forethought for their wedding come together in such a spectacular way. Surprisingly, however, I hadn’t thought much about planning my own wedding until a couple weeks ago.

Tom and Tyne’s Wedding Reception

April 22, 2009

Congratulations Tom and Tyne!
Tom and Tyne’s wedding reception on Saturday was a videographer’s dream. Chez Hay in downtown Lincoln has windows lining three sides, letting it plenty of light for the cameras and creating a bright, open feeling. There is a large, hardwood dancefloor in the center in front of the wedding party table, giving a [...]

Omaha Street School Concert

April 18, 2009

I filmed the 10th anniversary celebration of the Omaha Street School last evening. They put on a formal concert with uplifting music by excellent performers, spaced between speeches from founders and contributors to the school. The artists who performed were the David Potter Band, the Brazda Family, and Kathy Tyree.
The Omaha Street School takes in [...]
