Magnolia Hotel | Laura and Adam’s wedding on May 19th at the Magnolia Hotel was a beautiful, nature inspired event with many family and friends. This venue, located in the heart of downtown, had plenty of room for guests, including a courtyard for the ceremony, a lounge for guests to relax, and a reception hall. The hotel itself boasted modern opulence, with the large chandelier and rich colors lining the walls. The little details in decor from the bride made a large hotel feel very personal. The courtyard was perfect for the ceremony because the sunshine poured into the outdoor space, but was surrounded by rooms which kept the intimate feel.
Awesome Staff | The staff at the Magnolia Hotel were very professional, and always on top of any task from meals to multimedia. They were also very courteous and seemed sincerely excited for the couple. They worked diligently throughout the night to make sure the food was perfect, the outside vendors were accommodated, and that each guest was having a great time celebrating with Laura and Adam.

Cocktail Hour | As attendees moved into the cocktail hour, they discovered the fresh, nature inspire theme continued. Guests found their names displayed on a card which were wedged in a wine corks and surrounded by large canvases of the smiling couple. Also, Michael Walker serenaded the group as they made their way to the tables. As he sang into a 1940′s microphone, his velvet voice filled the area with jazz and blues inspired tunes.
Reception | The reception area has two levels, one with tables, the bar, and the cakes, and another with the sweetheart table and other tables, the dance floor, and the deejay. There were alternating centerpieces, one variety was fashioned after a chunk of wood, with white roses, green hydrangeas and other fresh flowers spilling out the top. The other was a tall glass with a bloom of similar flowers placed at the top, with twigs inside of the vase. The table settings were pure white, and the dark beige walls made the color scheme pop.

Dinner and Dessert | Dinner was catered by the hotel and served buffet style. It featured house salad, marinara penne and white cheese tortellini, peppered potatoes, chicken, and a shaved roast. Next up was one of my favorite parts of the reception: the cakes. Laura and Adam provided not one, but five cakes for guests to enjoy. There was the traditional four-tier, white cake with green and white blooms sprawled down one side. But the groom’s chocolate cake stole the show. The tuxedo strawberries grouped on square levels was a unique idea that made all the difference (and it was quite delicious).
Love Story | The couple played their WMO Love Story and Same-day-edit video after dinner. This is where Laura and Adam got to tell the story of how they met, and many guests who weren’t as closely connected to the story appreciated the chance to get to know them a little better. Guests laughed and cried with the couple, as it allowed a special moment for all to see their journey of falling in love. A few seconds after the love story concluded the video of Laura and Adam’s wedding day started (yes, we put it together that very day!), and guests were surprised and amazed that they could actually watch the wedding that they were just a part of unfold before their eyes. You can watch Laura and Adam’s same-day-edit highlights video at the top of this post.
Best Day Ever? All signs point to YES | The Magnolia Hotel provided a perfect space for Laura and Adam’s “best day ever” to take place. It’s an upscale venue that really shined as a place to host both the wedding and reception, and the courtyard is particularly cute for outdoor events. All of us at WMO were thrilled to be included in Laura and Adam’s wedding day and look forward to working with the Magnolia in the future.
